Can Tho (VNA) - Orbis International, a US-based non-governmental organisation, has pledged 835 million VND (about 52,000 USD) for a children's eye-sight care project in the Mekong delta.
The 2006-2009 project, which will provide eye operations free of charge for 1,000 children under 15 years old, will help reduce blind or visually impaired eyesight children, as well as improve the capacity of eye surgeons in the Mekong delta
This is part of Orbis International's 13.4 billion VND project on restoring eye-sight to 6,800 children in 14 cities and provinces in central and south Viet Nam.
