SUMERNET is hosting an online webinar on "Integrating health into environmental research on 8th December, 1.30 pm to 3.15 pm (Bangkok time).
The interaction between health and the environment have long been known, studied, and documented by researchers in the public health domain. Environmental scientists on the other hand, historically, have not typically engaged as much in this kind of research. The COVID-19 pandemic, as well as climate change, however, has brought greater attention to the connectedness between health and the environment, and thus brought increased interest among environmental academics on this important field of research.
In the first half of this webinar, four experts will share their insights; from a general overview of how to integrate health into environmental research, to presentations of actual case studies, to ethical considerations when engaging in this type of integrative research. In the second half of the event, we will have an interactive activity, followed by a mini-panel discussion with the speakers, and then an opportunity for participants to ask questions.
