Chau Thi Minh Long

Chau is a senior researcher, Vice Head of Agricultural Systems Division at the Western Highlands Agriculture and Forestry Science Institute (WASI) in Vietnam. She has been working for a long time in Agriculture systems in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, where 47 ethnic minorities are living together. She is very interested in working to enhance farmers livelihoods while protecting natural resources in the Mekong region to contribute to the sustainable development.

Chau would like to contribute her knowledge in the sustainable development of the Mekong region as there are many problems, for example: water insecurity, unsustainable agricultural agriculture systems because of climate change, and vulnerable groups of people such as ethnic people, children and women groups. Chau also has worked with SUMERNET as a research fellow under M - POWER program. Therefore, working as a SUMERNET SC member, she will have an opportunity to work closely with young researchers to help them improve their research quality and contribute to the effectiveness of SUMERNET program.
