Dr Saraphirom is an Assistant Professor at Department of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University (KKU), Thailand. He is also a Director of the Groundwater Resources Institute (GWRI) at KKU. His research interests are within the field of water resources including, climate change impact assessment and adaptation in the water, integrated water resources management, irrigation, environmental impact assessment and groundwater development, management and governance. More than 20 years’ experience in the research areas of groundwater development and management, the resilience of groundwater systems to climate change and human development and the related topics are his major research topics at GWRI. Dr. Saraphirom has published more than 15 papers in international journals and presented more than 20 conference papers ranging from groundwater modelling to climate change impacts and adaptation in the groundwater resources management sector such as the Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) and River Bank Filtration (RBF) systems. His present work responsibilities at KKU include delivering lectures at the postgraduate and undergraduate levels, supervising research to postgraduate students (Masers and Doctoral), and providing consulting services on water and environment related issues to government and donor agencies and research institutions. He has conducted several projects relating to water resources management, climate change impacts, and adaptation with awards from governmental and international organizations such as DGR, DWR, LDD, JICA and IWMI.
