Phoummixay Siharath

Phoummixay graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Engineering from the University of the Philippines Diliman. He holds a Master’s of Science in Environmental Engineering and Management from the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Laos in cooperation with the University of Siegen (Germany), AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow (Poland), and the Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology in Pathum Thani (Thailand). He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and Mathematics from the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Education, National University of Laos.

He currently is responsible for Head of Climate Change Division at Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, National University of Laos, He has been working more than 15 years’ experience conducting environmental baseline surveys, GIS mapping and preparing environmental Social impact assessment (ESIA) report for hydropower, transmission line, power plant and coal mine. His areas of specialization include environmental engineering, geographic information systems (GIS), integrated water resource management (IWRM), and environmental modelling that emphasizes on adsorption of carbon dioxide and Biomass distribution mapping in the reservoir with spatial analysis method.
