Sameang Chea obtained his BA degree in the field of International Relations at Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (PUC), Phnom Penh. He previously worked with Cambodian Center for Human Rights to promote human rights awareness in Cambodia. He has been an alumni of Southeast Asia Research Academic, and also an alumni of Young Research Fellow (2022) at Future Forum. Through his research work, he has produced a few policy briefs, and a number of op-eds in Politikoffee, VOD, Cambodianess, Kiripost, Southeast Asia Globe, New York Southeast Asia Network, and Future Forum.
Currently, he joins the Mekong Thought Leadership and Think Thanks Network Program (MTT) Fellow cohort (1) on inclusive policy engagement which is hosted at the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI Asia) in Thailand. His research interests include: Buddhism, human rights, contemporary Cambodian politics, and climate change.
