SUMERNET speakers to feature in webinar on "Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Development"

Several speakers from SUMERNET will feature in the “2nd International Symposium on Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Development”.

The "2nd International Symposium on Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Development” will bring together academics and others to discuss various dimensions of higher education systems in the Asia-Pacific region with a focus on Disaster Risk Reduction and Sustainable Development.

Organized online by the Asian Institute of Technology during 24 -25 June 2021, the  International Symposium will focus on various dimensions of existing and future risk scenarios and concerted efforts of the scientific communities to find new adaptation methods.

The program will include keynote speeches, panel discussions, technical sessions, poster presentations, and academic exhibitions.

SUMERNET speakers to feature are:

  • Ms. Hap Navy as a keynote speaker in Keynote Session 2 (Chair of SUMERNET Steering Committee (SSC)

  • Dr. Nguyen Van Kien as a co-chair of Technical Session 11 (SUMERNET Steering Committee, Vietnam)

  • Dr. Hue Le as a speaker in Keynote Session 2 and Technical Session 5 (SUMERNET gender advisor)

They will be joined by two speakers from Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) Asia Centre who are also advisors in SUMERNET.

  • Dr. Albert Salamanca as a co-chair of Technical Session 5 (SUMERNET M&E advisor)

  • Mr. Michael Boyland as a co-chair of Technical Session 6 (SUMERNET ethics advisor)
