Souphavanh Sensouphanh is a SUMERNET Young Professionals (SYP) Country Coodinator for Laos.
With a background in international relations, she is a passionate advocate for social issues in her community. Her dedication to civic engagement spans over six years which she has actively observed and participated in diverse community projects. Souphavanh's commitment to social issues is exemplified by her role in the Justice Project, funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD). This initiative collaborates with relevant ministries to implement the Judicial Services, Training, and Institutions Capacity Enhancement (JuSTICE) Project, aimed at strengthening the rule of law through training and professionalization of justice actors in Lao PDR, with one of particular focus on environmental law.
Currently, she serves as SUMERNET Young Professional Country Coordinator for Laos, Souphavanh works to bridge the gap between young professionals and relevant stakeholders. Her goal is to create a platform that engages youth in research and advocacy for environmental issues affecting the Mekong River, promoting a sustainable future. Through this role, she strives to amplify the voices of young professionals and foster collaboration in addressing critical regional challenges
