Chulalongkorn University’s Environmental Research Institute (ERI) is undertaking a research project titled “Towards a carbon-neutral destination: Developing low-carbon based tourism for sustainable tourism in Nan province”.

The study is funded by the Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO), Thailand, through Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMU C), 2021.

This research has two objectives:(1) to study carbon emission equivalent from tourism activities in Nan province and (2) to develop low carbon-based tourism for sustainable tourism in Nan province toward Carbon Neutral destination.

The figures showing map of “Low Carbon Tourism Route” and “Carbon Coin Passport” represents these empirical outcomes.
