SUMERNET policy forum to be held in Phnom Penh on 30 March 2017

The Annual Meeting of SUMERNET will take place at the Sunway Hotel, Phnom Penh during 28-30 March 2017. The highlight of the event will be a one-day policy forum on 30th March bringing together regional policy-makers, think tanks, academics and civil society. A number of policy planners from the host country Cambodia are expected to attend.

The SUMERNET Policy Forum is titled "Opportunities for regional research and partnership approach in supporting the implementation of water security related Sustainable Development Goals of Agenda 2030".

Senior policy-makers from Cambodia attending the forum are: H.E. Nao Thuok, Secretary of State at Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Cambodia;  H.E. Dr. Van Monyneath, Deputy Secretary-General, National Council for Sustainable Development, Cambodia.

About 80-100 participants are expected to attend including SUMERNET research and regional assessment partners, research mentors, academics, donor agencies, relevant Cambodia government officials, media, and SUMERNET partners and media representatives.
