This piece aims to share highlights from our research, media and policy engagement events in the last two months.
On 7 April, we launched a call for 1-year SUMERNET fellowships for young, early-career researchers and practitioners. SUMERNET has offered this opportunity for young and early-career (not older than 35 years) Mekong Region citizens with researcher and/or practitioner backgrounds from the countries of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. Applications are now closed.
Recent highlights are a webinar Lessons from COVID-19 for reducing water insecurities: Webinar on VOICES project to highlight the results from the project “Listening to voices on the margins: Lessons from the COVID-19 crisis for improving access to clean water for drinking and hygiene in the Mekong Region (VOICES)” on 11 May.
We published reflections based on this webinar Perspectives from the VOICES project on Covid-19 and water insecurity.
Dr. Chayanis Krittasudthacheewa talked about "What next for water policy in Thailand?" on 31 May for the event Embracing multiple water worlds: Policy and practice of water governance in Thailand and beyond.
Our media grants work wrapped up in May 2022. In addition to collaborating and mentoring many of our researchers, our eight media grantees have produced a range of products: blog stories, perspectives, short videos and podcasts. We will publish these products from June onwards on the SUMERNET website.
