Short film on "Ayeyarwady Futures" gives perspectives on river basin management in Myanmar

The Ayeyarwady Futures program (AF) has been supporting Myanmar to move towards sustainable development through evidence-based and inclusive multi-stakeholder participatory planning processes in the water sector, particularly, in the Ayeyarwady River Basin, Myanmar’s most important waterway and ecological resource.

The short film is a compilation of interviews about the AF program's work and achievements on river basin management in the the Ayeyarwady River Basin in Myanmar. 

The film provides the various perspectives of the people and institutions involved in the AF program including Myanmar government officials, researchers, academics and civil society representatives as well as colleagues from SEI Asia Centre.

The Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) Asia Centre initiated the Ayeyarwady Futures (AF) program in 2014 with its first phase ending on 31st May 2015. 

The AF program is a collaborative effort by SEI with the Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems (DWIR), the Secretary of National Water Resources Committee, Myanmar Environment Institute (MEI) and other organizations and experts from Myanmar and the Mekong Region.
