Thein Dollar

Thein Dollar is a SUMERNET PLUS Fellow from Myanmar and a proud member of the Danu/Burmese ethnic community.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Mandalay, a master’s degree in Public Policy, and is currently pursuing another master’s in Development Studies at Chiang Mai University. Professionally, he works in gender, migration, youth empowerment, and social inclusion, with over four years of experience across nonprofit and civil society organizations. He's passionate about research, policy, and creating more inclusive and equitable communities across Southeast Asia.

Outside of work and academia, he's a solo traveler who loves exploring new places, sitting in cozy cafés for hours, taking random photography shots, watching movies, and spending quality time with his best friends. He enjoys easygoing and fun conversations, also discovering hidden spots while traveling. His initial goal is to go solo backpacking across Europe.
