SUMERNET partner Dr Sangam Shreshta received promotion to full professor at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, yesterday.
SUMERNET congratulates Dr Sangam for his scholarly dedication and research efforts especially on water management in the Mekong Region. Dr. Sangam has been collaborating with SUMERNET over the past decade on water resources, climate change and sustainable development.
He is also Chair of Water Engineering and Management Program at AIT where he was awarded the Distinguished Research Leader Award in 2014. He is also a Visiting Faculty of the University of Yamanashi, Japan, National University of Laos, and a Research Fellow of the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Japan. His research interests are within the field of hydrology and water resources including, climate change impact assessments and adaptation in water, integrated water resources management and groundwater assessment and management.
